Great local family boozer. And anyone's welcome. We had a meal for four and all enjoyed everything. Unfortunately, we had to leave as our son had a trapped nerve in his neck, which was upsetting him.. The wonderful bar lady brought us some icepack for his neck, which helped. And offered out food to be boxed. Which was so kind of her. We've been before and definitely retuning. Thanks all.
been today to meet up with some family and a couple that helped me in an hour of need, table for 8, plenty of room, service was excellent, food as always superb, the young couple had not been in to The National before but were extremely impressed with the food, 1 had the mega mixed grill, the other the fish and chips, all in all 8 people eating, 8 empty plates. Could not have wished for a better day, Thank you all

My first visit and was glad to see it was a sizzling pub as my local one closed and changed hands a few years ago, so I had the chance of ordering my favourite mixed grill. They only told me about the longish wait for food after ordering but it was worth the wait and no mistake. My girlfriend had the tikka curry and said the same. For chain pub food I honestly think Sizzling pubs are a cut above with quality and value but the National excelled. My only moan was the lack of a cask beer on my visit but a reasonably priced bottle of Newcastle's finest was a decent substitute. We will certainly return if they'll have us back.
Lovely little pub, serving good quality food in a timely manner. All the staff are so polite and friendly which in all makes for a great guest experience. Was recommended the "lay it on chick" burger which did not disappoint and it's my go-to when visiting. Never had an issues and couldn't recommended the place more!
A nice local place for lunch or a quick drink. There's always plenty of seating and the staff are friendly. The toilets are clean and there's also plenty of tables outside for that summertime stop off.
We called up last minute for table for 9 people and it did not disappoint! The service was great and the food was amazing! All the 9 meals came at the same time and was delicious. Will definitely be going back to this pub. Thank you
The customer service was brilliant, friendly, calm, knowledgeable. We booked a table, it was busy so I’m very glad we did. The table was in the doorway so quite drafty, so will definitely request not to be in the doorway in the future. Being out of the main restaurant area did mean we could hear each other talk. Lovely evening - thank you.
